Which toxin brand is best for me?
The different toxin brands—Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, and Daxxify—work slightly differently. Some are lighter, some are stronger; some spread out more, and some have a more focused effect. It’s to your benefit to have an injector who is well-versed in all types and uses them daily (like us!). We like to have all the tools in the toolbox to tailor treatments to different, unique faces. How many units do I need?
Each area of the upper face (frown lines, forehead, or crow’s feet) typically requires about 20 units of Botox.
Different toxin brands count units differently – and it’s confusing!

What areas can toxin treat?
Toxins for Smoother Skin
Helps diminish wrinkles by relaxing the underlying muscles that cause them. The areas we commonly treat are: 1) frown lines 2) forehead lines 3) around the eyes or crow's feet 4) brow lift 5) the lower face, including the chin, mouth, and nose 6) lip flip 7) gummy smile 8) neck muscles.
Toxins for Headaches and TMJ or Jaw Pain
Botox is FDA-approved for headache relief and is highly effective in reducing TMJ pain caused by clenching and grinding. By relaxing the muscles involved in chewing (the muscles of mastication), we can alleviate discomfort.
Toxins for Excessive Sweating
Reduce excessive sweating by blocking the nerve signals that trigger sweat glands. Toxins can offer relief for several months in areas like the underarms, palms, or feet.

How long does toxin last?
The effects of toxins generally last 3-4 months (although the different brands of toxin vary slightly in duration). As muscle activity gradually returns, lines and wrinkles start to reappear. We recommend treatment at least twice a year, or every 6 months, though many patients prefer to come in every 3-4 months for optimal results.

Does toxin treatment hurt?
Toxin treatment is a 5-minute procedure that is virtually painless. A few drops of toxins are injected with a tiny needle into the muscle that is causing the wrinkle. Numbing cream is available at no extra charge for extra sensitive.
