Drink lots of water. Staying hydrated has so many health benefits, but when it comes to skin, water helps keep the skin supple and clears the toxins that cause inflammation and blemishes.
Use sun protection every day, especially if you live in South Florida, like us! The sun is the #1 preventable cause of wrinkles. Our faves are TiZo3 and EltaMD physical sunscreens.
Sleep 7-9 hours per night – it’s called beauty sleep for a reason! Sleep deprivation lowers circulation, which is why you look pale and washed out if you only get a few hours.
Wash your face with warm water instead of hot water. Not only does the heat strip essential oils, it can dehydrate and even mildly burn the skin.
Moisturize immediately after washing. To trap in moisture, ointments, lotions, serums, and creams need to be applied within minutes of drying off.
Quit smoking. Smoking narrows the blood vessels found in the outer layer of the skin, which reduces blood flow and exhausts the skin of the nutrients and oxygen it needs to remain healthy.
